Advocacy (Joint w/AzHLA) Follow local issues to determine where VH&RA should be involved and appropriate position Monitor Buddy System program and efforts Plan and execute local City Officials Luncheon Monitor industry committees, task forces and advisory boards that affect tourism industry
Education (Joint w/AzHLA) Plan, execute and oversee the VH&RA Hospitality Career Day Program Review, recommend and coordinate scholarship program Review, recommend and coordinate programs such as Teacher Internships, School-to-Work, and Job Shadow/Mentor Programs
Environmental/Green
(Joint w/AzHLA) Works with staff to help integrate responsible practices into different hotel and resort operations that will essentially help benefit their business Help Members to be economically, socially and environmentally friendly.
Fundraising/Golf Committee
Plan, execute and oversee the annual VH&RA Golf Tournament & Fundraiser in May, including sponsorships for holes, tees and greens and donations for prizes, awards and silent auction Recommend and coordinate additional fundraising activities and identify worthwhile contribution recipients.
Member & Community Relations
Plan and execute annual Media Reception and St. Vincent de Paul lunch service Plan and coordinate monthly luncheon programs and speakers Review, recommend and coordinate participation in quality community oriented programs on an ongoing basis Initiate positive public & media relations Work to enhance the hotel industry's image in the community
Membership Increase hotel/resort and vendor membership in Association and encourage active participation Review, recommend, develop and oversee programs to provide increased member value and encourage greater involvement of all members
