Online Hotel Book Scams – May 26

On-line hotel booking scams are on the rise and impact both hoteliers and consumers. Many of these websites appear in the sponsored section of Google searches and use deceptive URLs and pirated pictures to trick consumers into thinking they're booking with an actual hotel.

If a hotel guest in Arizona has fallen victim to these deceptive websites they need to contact the Arizona Attorney General's Office – Consumer Protection Section. Instructions for filing a consumer complaint can be downloaded by clicking here. Hotels are encouraged to have this information available for their employees to hand to guests who have fallen victim to these scams.
