VHRA Super Bowl Wrap Up on the Super Game Field! We are excited to welcome back Jay Parry, President & CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee to recap The Big Game and all the events leading up to Arizona's moment to shine. We will also update you on the 2016 College Football Championship and the 2017 NCAA Final Four. Registration will be extended for the opportunity to have your photo taken on the Super Game Field. Arizona Office of Tourism Launches New Travel Application
Arizona Travel Impacts, the new mobile version of AOT's annually published "Arizona Travel Impacts" report, breaks down visitor spending, jobs, direct earnings, and tax receipts generated by the travel industry by state, region, county, and legislative district. The free app includes historical data dating back to 1998 and is available for download on iPhone, iPad and Android devices at tourism.az.gov/research-statistics/economic-impact via Apple's App Store and Google Play. The data is updated annually.

2015 Legislative Session
The 2015 Legislative Session is officially underway and Governor Ducey has unveiled his budget recommendations, which include cuts across the board of almost all state agencies, as well as a state employee hiring freeze. The Fiscal Year 2016 budget for the Arizona Office of Tourism currently calls for a $4.5 million reduction from the General Fund. AzLTA is closely monitoring budget discussions as well as several bills directly and indirectly related to the lodging and tourism industry. Details of these bills and AzLTA's public policy efforts will be provided in the upcoming Government Affairs ebulletin.

Sky Harbor Prepares to Welcome Record Number of Visitors
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is looking forward to welcoming travelers to the Valley of the Sun for Super Bowl XLIX. February 2, the day after Super Bowl XLIX, will be Phoenix Sky Harbor's busiest day on record with a 60 percent increase in traffic. An average day at Sky Harbor sees about 110,000 passengers while Feb. 2 could see 180,000 passengers. Additionally, an average day sees about 1,200 takeoffs and landings at Phoenix Sky Harbor, while February 2, the airport expects approximately 1,600 takeoffs and landings.
